exterior photo Next door to the Erbdrostenhof, the tiny Clemenskirche (also designed by Johann Conrad Schlaun) has an ornately plastered, gilded, and painted interior that could have been imported from Bavaria--which shouldn't be altogether surprising, since the paintings are by Johann Adam Schöpf of Munich, and the bishop who commissioned the church specified a Rococo decor.

The church is generally open during the day, with a grille inside the entrance to keep visitors from picking off the gold leaf or napping in the pews. It's a popular venue for small weddings.
