Just to the west of Münster's Altstadt is the Aasee, or Lake Aa, which was created by damming the Aa River. A waterbus runs from the Adenauerallee (near the Altstadt) to the Mühlenhof open-air museum with a final stop at the Altwetterzoo and the Westphalian Museum for Natural History and Planetarium.
