Casa Sant'Andrea, Venice

Casa Sant'Andrea signThe Casa Sant'Andrea is a former 16th Century monastery that's located just behind the Piazzale Roma, facing a quiet canal. It offers one- to four-bed guestrooms with and without private facilities.

Unlike many budget B&Bs in Venice, the Casa Sant'Andrea has an elevator, so you won't have to haul your luggage up a flight of stairs.

How to reach Casa Sant'Andrea from Piazzale Roma:

  1. As you leave the airport bus or taxi, walk toward the large parking garage and the People Mover station behind the airport buses.

  2. Cross the street to the People Mover station, using the red crosswalk.

  3. Go left, past the station entrance and turn right at the corner.

  4. Follow the tree-shaded pedestrian walkway under the People Mover's tracks.

  5. At the next corner, turn right and walk a short distance along the canal to the Casa Sant'Andrea.

From the Marittima cruise terminals:

  1. Take a free shuttle bus (if available), a taxi, or the People Mover elevated tramway (just outside the port entrance) to the Piazzale Roma.

  2. Follow the directions above (from step 3, if you're arriving on the People Mover).

From the Santa Lucia railroad station:

  1. As you leave the station, turn right and walk past the large building to the Calatrava Bridge, a.k.a. the Ponte della Costituzione.

  2. Cross the bridge to the Piazzale Roma.

  3. Cross the street to the large parking garage on your right and walk a short distance to the People Mover station.

  4. Follow the directions from the People Mover station above (step 3 in the first set of directions).
