Heir Island

Not far from the pier, we pass the Island Cottage restaurant and cookery school, which serves dinner by reservation only from May to September. (Nearly all of the restaurant's patrons are Irish visitors from the mainland, who take a special ferry from Cunnamore at 7:55 p.m. and depart Heir Island at 11:55 p.m.)
