L'Austral Cruise PhotosFrom: L'Austral cruise review Day 5: Mouth of Kotor and Mljet, Croatia (2)
To reach our next port, Mljet, L'Austral needed to backtrack from the Mouth of Kotor. The route to Mljet took us past Dubrovnik, where we'd spent the previous day.
Near Dubrovnik, the ship stopped for a change of pilots. The pilot from Montenegro returned to his home port, and a Croatian pilot came on board.
We enjoyed a fine view of Dubrovnik's Old City and its walls as L'Austral resumed cruising and traveled north along the Croatian coast.
One of Croatia's ubiquitous Jadrolinija ferries left Gruž,
the main commercial and yacht port for Dubrovnik, as we cruised north past the
city.
MSC Divina emerged from the harbor of Gruž just as we cruised by.
Just
to the north of Gruž, we passed a modern hotel and Dubrovnik's Franjo Tuđman
suspension bridge, which opened to road traffic in 2002.
